Martine Durand-Gasselin is a glass-blower who opened a shop and workshop in St-Méloir des Ondes in 1988. This gifted craftswoman uses heat, colour and molten glass to create a wide range of tableware, vases, bowls, paper weights and decorative objects. A visit to her shop and workshop will definitely brighten up your day !

An amazing talent !

Martine Durand-Gasselin promotes the Art of Excellence and the tradition of beauty with utility. Each piece is unique and ‘made-to-measure’ whether it is a creative or restorative work. If you are looking for a new, attractive set of glasses, she will create one for you. Or perhaps you have a lovely piece of glassware that has become rather worn over the years, or worse still broken, Martine will restore it or create an identical copy for you.

A great idea for an outing !

The Atelier du Verre is open to the public. The colourful objects on sale in the shop are an absolute delight to see and very tempting too – ideal for gift shopping. However, the icing on the cake is watching Martine at work in her workshop, where you can watch her create an object before your very eyes, using her skill and dexterity. Amazing !

A word of advice: before you go, check that the workshop is open; it would be a great pity to miss such a fascinating display.
